Dallas Cowboys
NFC East | Bye Week: 10
Season Preview
The Dallas Cowboys enter the 2025 fantasy football season with an exciting offensive core led by quarterback Dak Prescott, who is returning strong after a hamstring injury in 2024. Prescott is expected to throw frequently, benefiting from a revamped receiving corps featuring All-Pro slot receiver CeeDee Lamb and newly acquired perimeter talent George Pickens. Both receivers have 1,000-yard potential, making the passing game a focal point. Prescott, now 32, remains a top-tier fantasy QB, especially in formats rewarding six points per passing touchdown, despite no longer being a rushing threat.
A major fantasy sleeper this year is KaVontae Turpin, a dynamic return specialist whose role in the offense is increasing under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer. Turpin has shown improved route running and versatility with reps at wide receiver and running back during training camp, positioning him as a potential swiss-army knife on offense. He could reach an 800-yard, six-touchdown season, making him a highly valuable late-round fantasy pick. Meanwhile, Jake Ferguson holds down the tight end spot, providing reliable targets in a potent passing attack.
At running back, the Cowboys’ depth is in flux. Javonte Williams is the lead back after the team kept four running backs, including Miles Sanders, Jaydon Blue, and Hunter Luepke. Blue, a rookie who missed some preseason time due to an ankle injury, has impressed in practice and could emerge as a surprise fantasy contributor. Sanders is on the bubble but held onto a roster spot due to his experience, while rookie Phil Mafa is likely headed to the practice squad. Williams’ workload should be strong, though the group overall is viewed as less impactful than the passing game.
Defensively, questions linger around the secondary, particularly cornerback depth and the status of Trevon Diggs, who is recovering from a knee injury and may miss the first couple games. The offensive-focused Cowboys are built to put up points, helping fantasy managers who stack skill position players like Prescott, Lamb, Pickens, and emerging players such as Turpin and Blue. This balance of proven stars and intriguing sleepers makes Dallas a compelling team to target in 2025 fantasy drafts.
