Los Angeles Rams

NFC West | Bye Week: 8

Season Preview

The Los Angeles Rams enter the 2025 fantasy football season with a sense of cautious optimism. They surprised many by finishing 10-7 last year and capturing the NFC West despite a drop in offensive production. The team addressed some key offensive needs in the offseason, aiming to get more out of a veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is coming off a concerning back injury but has already returned to practice. While Stafford’s mobility and red-zone efficiency have declined, his health will determine much of the offense’s success this year, with experts anticipating he can still manage a solid, if unspectacular, QB2 fantasy season.

Wide receiver Davante Adams remains a premier fantasy asset and a significant upgrade in the Rams’ passing attack following Cooper Kupp’s departure. Adams’ presence, combined with a hopefully healthy Stafford, has analysts projecting the Rams for a top-five scoring offense this season. Puka Nacua may see a dip in touchdown opportunities with Adams monopolizing red-zone targets, but he still stands to benefit from increased pressure on defenses. Tight end Tyler Higbee and rookie Jared Verse also add intriguing depth to the passing game, though none overshadow the primary focal points of Stafford and Adams.

On the ground, Kyren Williams continues as the featured running back and fantasy workhorse. Despite some analysts feeling he may be overrated, Williams was the Rams' most consistent offensive weapon last season, leading the team in snaps, carries, and touchdowns. With other backs like Blake Corum and rookie Jarquez Hunter possibly chipping in but unlikely to usurp Williams’ lead role, he remains firmly entrenched as an RB1 in fantasy drafts, though his workload might dip slightly from last year’s career-high touches.

Defensively, the Rams showed marked improvement in the second half of 2024, emerging as one of the better fantasy defenses late in the season thanks to their disruptive pass rush and opportunistic turnovers. While last year’s sack total was modest, increased quarterback pressure and defensive playmaking potential could make the Rams’ defense a valuable streaming or late-round pick, especially in leagues rewarding turnovers and sacks. The Rams' ability to replicate that late-season form will be a key factor in their overall fantasy appeal this season.
